Gate Late Live with Dean Atta

Dean atta banner 2

This event is now taking place on Twitter, live from 8pm, 18 Mar.

Join us for our first (hopefully of many) Gate Lates Live. Hosted by Dean Atta, join us for a sharing of poetry and stroies.

Email [email protected] if you would like to perform, with an example of your work and your Twitter handle.

Trainers is an adventure/love story about writing, queering language, and words as activism. So we're bringing back our Open Mic Night hosted by Dean Atta, and inviting you to tell your stories and read your poems on the set of Trainers.

Dean will also read from his own work: he's most recently published a new collection of poetry called The Black Flamingo, and is the recipient of the Stonewall Book Award 2020. He was shortlisted for the Polari First Book Prize for his debut poetry collection, I Am Nobody’s N****r. His poems deal with themes of race, gender, identity and growing up, and have appeared on BBC One, BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service and Channel 4.

Join one of the most influential LGBTQ people in the UK (Independent on Sunday), on the Trainers set, and share your work with us. We welcome everyone to read their work or simply watch, no matter how new or experienced you are.

This event will take place after the performance of Trainers and is free.
