Lucas Hnath’s plays include Red Speedo (Studio Theatre, DC), A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney (Soho Rep), Nightnight (2013 Humana Festival), Isaac's Eye (Ensemble Studio Theatre), Death Tax (2012 Humana Festival, Royal Court Theatre), and The Courtship of Anna Nicole Smith (Actors Theatre of Louisville). Lucas has been a resident playwright at New Dramatists since 2011 and is also a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre. Lucas has been the recipient of the 2012 Whitfield Cook Award for Isaac’s Eye and a 2013 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award Citation for Death Tax. His work has been commissioned by a variety of organisations from the EST/Sloan Project, Actors Theatre of Louisville, South Coast Repertory, Playwrights Horizons, New York University’s Graduate Acting Program, and the Royal Court Theatre. Hnath holds a BFA and MFA from New York University's Department of Dramatic Writing.

Iona is a recent graduate of the National Film and Television School, and Cambridge University. Her work has been selected for international film festivals, including EIFF and Rhode Island. Prior to film school she worked in factual television for Brook Lapping, RDF Media, ITV, Endemol and the BBC. Her company Misfit Films has created promos for clients including Sky Arts, Almeida Theatre, Royal Court, British Council and UNICEF. MJ’s Choirs are over 300 members strong, led by the musical director, MJ Paranzino. The choirs sing all styles of music, from Mozart and gospel to The Black Eyed Peas.

 

Over the past 13 years, the members have organised a programme of community outreach concerts, raising over £25,000 for charities. Every year, MJ commissions new choral pieces, from around the world, for The Brighton Fringe. MJ’s Choirs have performed several times at the Royal Festival Hall and Central Hall Westminster, as well as appearing on film, the BBC, Channel Four, and SKY Arts.

 

MJ is often contacted as a musical director for events, and a source for singers at all levels. Recent examples include the Just Eat ad and Volkswagen Christmas campaign. She is the go-to contact for flash mob choirs (Citroen and Channel Four). Her clients for vocal corporate workshops include the NHS, Travelex and EDF.

 

MJ and her partner Ginny Dougary accept commissions for all kinds of events. Last year, Lady Carnarvon of Highclere Castle [aka Downton Abby] commissioned a 20 - minute piece to commemorate the 100^th year anniversary of the First World War. Three hundred singers performed on the main stage to an audience of 15,000, with Alexandra Burke singing Hallelujah for the finale. 

Sophie trained in Performance Costume at Edinburgh College of Art where she trained as a Designer, Supervisor and Maker. Since graduating in 2011 she has worked in a variety of roles throughout the UK (The Traverse Theatre, The Lyceum Theatre, Grid Iron, Lung Ha’s, Trinity Laban, The English National Opera), Prague (The Prague Quadrennial) and Australia (The Australian Ballet, Arts House, Melbourne Fringe Festival, The Production Company).
