The Ridiculous Darkness: In Conversation with Bridget Minamore

The ridiculous darkness in conversation with bridget minamore

Who gets to represent themselves? What are the narratives the West tells to believe it’s ‘civilised’? And how can we change the story?

Join us on Monday evening after the show for an  exciting In Conversation with Bridget Minamore (journalist, poet and critic) and Anthony Simpson-Pike (Associate Director and director of The Ridiculous Darkness).

Bridget Minamore has written for publications like The Guardian, Pitchfork, and The Stage, about theatre and music, as well as London, pop culture, race, class, and feminism.

As a poet she has read her work both nationally and internationally, from Cheltenham Literary Festival and the Southbank Centre, to literary festivals in Rome, Vancouver, and Kraków. She was chosen as one of Speaking Volumes’ 40 Stars of Black British Literature.

Bridget will join us for The Ridiculous Darkness  ‘In  Conversation’ to discuss the themes the play raises, including colonialism, representation and gender.
